A sad morning
Today the world of music has lost a voice that never remained silent. At the age of 76, Ozzy Osbourne, the original king of heavy metal and co-founder of Black Sabbath, said goodbye to the world. He took his last breaths surrounded by his family, with love and peace.
Sharon Osbourne and the children said in an emotional statement:
“It’s hard to say this… but we have to tell you that our beloved Ozzy is no longer in this world.”
Prince of Darkness – One name, one era
John Michael Osbourne, our Ozzy, was not just a name, he was a revolution. His musical journey started in 1968 with Black Sabbath – songs like “Paranoid”, “Iron Man” and “War Pigs” changed the world’s taste of music. The real flavour of heavy metal came from the sound of his guitar and his guttural voice.
When he left the band in 1979 due to personal challenges, everyone thought that the story was over. But no! His comeback in 1980 with “Blizzard of Ozz” gave an anthem like “Crazy Train” – still the life of every concert.
Onstage Madness: From Bite to Rock Royalty
When you mention Ozzy, one image comes to mind – biting someone’s head off on stage. That moment in 1982 was definitely shocking, but it was also a part of Ozzy’s unpredictable personality. He later had to take a rabies shot, but people said: “Only Ozzy can pull this off!”
He gave 13 solo albums, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice – first with Black Sabbath (2006) and then as a solo artist (2024). This milestone was not just a testament to his talent, but also his resilience.
Reality Show of Rockstar
In the early 2000s, one MTV show became everyone’s favorite: The Osbournes. Along with Sharon, Kelly, and Jack, Ozzy’s real life showed the world another side of him – funny, emotional, and vulnerable. His health and addiction struggles were openly shown in the show – but that honesty was his charm.
Battle with Parkinson’s
In 2020, he revealed his diagnosis of Parkinson’s, but in fact, he had been battling the disease since 2003.
He said: “I am not dying of Parkinson’s. I have fought it all my life. If tomorrow morning the news comes that ‘Ozzy did not wake up’, people will say – come on, he has finally been caught.”
What an amazing love for life he had!
In 2018, staph infection, then spinal surgeries – but Ozzy never gave up. He made a comeback every time. Every time he gave hope to the fans.
Final Bow: A beautiful farewell
A few weeks ago, he performed his “Final Bow” at Villa Park in the UK – his style was royal even while sitting on the throne. Brian May (Queen) wrote in tribute:
“There was only love in that show. Ozzy said goodbye peacefully.”
Tributes From Across The World
Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day): “No words. We love you Ozzy.”
Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath bassist): “4 kids from Aston – who’d have thought, eh?”
Jon Bon Jovi, Brian May, Tony Iommi – all paid tribute from the heart.
There was only one emotion in every message – gratitude. Because Ozzy did not just give music, he became an inspiration.
Fans’ passion: Internet was filled with emotions
On Twitter, Instagram and Reddit, posts were filled with Ozzy’s photos, videos and his lyrics everywhere.
A fan wrote: “Ozzy is not gone, his music is in every heartbeat.”
